Dimensional Analysis: Finishes

Purpose
The Finish Dimensions test is designed to ensure that all thread finishes on NR PET bottles comply with the dimensions and allowable tolerances specified on the respective bottle finish design drawings. In addition, there shall be no continuous or excessive flash, and no overhang between the E1 and E2 dimensions.
Description
Using an optical comparator of at least 20X magnification, the following dimensions are evaluated:
- T: Thread Diameter
- E1: Core pin seal diameter
- E2: Thread split seal diameter
- H: Height from top of finish to top of locking ring
- S: Thread start distance
- L or D: Overall finish height
- F: Seal diameter for 38mm finish
- Locking ring angle
- Locking ring radius
- Seal radius
- Thread radius
- Thread pitch
- Thread projection
- Vent slot depth
- Vent slot width
