Purpose
This procedure measures the amount of force that is required to deflect the panel of non-hotfill PET bottles.
Description
Twelve bottles are randomly selected for testing. Test locations are chosen in each section of the bottle. Force is then applied at these locations until the bottle is deflected to a customer-specified limit. The force is applied and measured using an Instron Universal Testing System.
